Our main goal is to provide high quality professional chess education for students of all age groups and chess levels.
The educational program of our school includes high quality chess content, advanced learning techniques, and high-tech equipment and software. This is a “Russian Style” chess school enhanced by new technologies.
- Each lesson includes a theoretical part, a practical part and an analysis of the games played.
- Each student will have his/her own account where all the attended classes (with lesson materials) are stored.
Our lessons include: in-class games, demonstrations of games of famous chess players, and electronic homework. Thus, our students will have the unique opportunity to go through each lesson over and over again whenever they want to refresh their knowledge of a particular topic.
In the learning process, we use special equipment such as digital Bluetooth Chess Boards, DGT chess clocks and a projector in order to increase the efficiency of the class and provide our students with as much knowledge and materials as possible.
Chess is simultaneously a science, an art and a sport.
As science:
Every chess game involves a process that embodies the use of the essential analytical tools: pattern recognition, memory recall, deductive and inductive reasoning, strategic planning, visual imagery, and decision making. These are all important attributes that are highly correlated to academic success, as supported by numerous studies.
As art:
The infinite possibilities for creating new combinations in chess are comparable to producing fine art or music. The best chess games are works of beauty - wonderful products of original and creative thinking. Children learn to appreciate the aesthetics of patterns and strategies.
As sport:
Chess competition provides a safe forum for children to learn about taking responsibility for their actions and being perseverant in their “battles” while accepting defeat with grace. It is a great social environment within which children may make new friends and share their passion. In the process of learning, playing and competing in chess, children learn valuable skills of concentration, abstract reasoning, and rational problem-solving, while tapping into their creativity and originality. These skills and sportsmanship can be transferred to real life in the long term. The best part is that the children have fun while learning these lessons.
